Preview: Port Vale v Blackpool

Port Vale manager Brian Horton is sweating on the fitness of Steve Brooker ahead of the visit of Blackpool.

He suffered a groin injury last Friday, although he appears likely to make the squad.

However, Michael Walsh is definitely out as he continues to struggle with a back problem he sustained in last month's defeat at Chesterfield.

Blackpool boss Steve McMahon is struggling with an injury crisis that could leave him without nine first-team regulars.

Tommy Jaszczun and Keith Southern are both out with knee injuries while Matt Blinkhorn is suspended.

On the plus side, Phil Barnes will return to the bench after struggling with a problematic finger so Lee Jones will start between the sticks.

But six others are doubtful, with Steve Elliott the biggest concern with an ankle ligament injury.

Simon Grayson and Danny Coid are both nursing groin injuries, Richie Wellens and Leam Richardson have hamstring strains and John Murphy is doubtful with a back problem.

Aika eriäviä mielipiteitä löytyy kyllä...

TIP-EX:n keskiarvo on tällä hetkellä 44-28-28, miettikää kuinka todennäköisesti 30 pisteen Blackpool voittaa vieraissa 32 pisteen Port Valen? Toki Port Vale on ollut kotiriippuvainen (23/9 pisteistä kotona) mutta Blackpool on yleisesti rankattu huomattavasti ylemmäs rankingeissa ennen tätä hetkeä (mun rankingeissa 21:s vastaan 13:s ennen kauden alkua.) Tämän hetken kunto ei edellytä yli 40% todennäköisyyksiä Port Valelle missään tapauksessa IMO.

Port Valen kolmen viimesen pelin saldo on kaks tasuria ja yks tappio, ja nää kaikki on tullu divarin top10-joukkueita vastaan ja kaks peliä on vielä ollu vieraissa, joten en nyt vielä menis julistamaan, että Vale ois huonossa kunnossa.

Mun rankingissa Blackpool on tällä hetkellä sijalla 16 ja Port Vale sijalla 18. Optimaattori arvioi Port Valen tän kauden kotisaldoks 11-7-5 ja Blackpoolin vierassaldoks 6-7-10. Port Vale on siis kova kotijoukkue, Blackpoolin kotietu on puolestaan hieman normaalia pienempi.

Nää kaikki tekijät yhteenlaskemalla tuntuu Optimaattorin 48,5%:n arvio Valelle aika lailla luontevalta.
